The majority chief whip who doubles as MP for Nsawam Adoagyiri, Frank Annor Dompreh has categorically stated that, the National Investment Bank ( NIB ) is not for sale as the NDC minority said in their press conference few weeks ago. He explained that, government through the current management of the NIB has put in measures to lift the finance position as compared to how it was before the NPP government led by President Akuafo-Addo took over in 2017.
Mr Annor Dompreh further said, the NDC government gave out over five hundred million Ghana cedis were given out to some non financial institutions which weakened the financial standing of NIB which as at now such monies have not been collected back into the accounts of NIB
He said, the NDC government failed to carry financial audit of NIB until the current government came to power when the finance minister, Mr Ken Ofori-Atta ordered Ghana Amegamated trust to look out for funds to support NIB.
Mr Dompreh concluded by saying, the information put out by the minority stating that, the government is planning to sell NIB is inaccurate, also the statement made claiming that, the bank was being managed from Canada is also false and that, Ghanaians should disregard such uninformed information from the NDC minority in their press conference.
